4th Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art 4.09-12.11.2017
The Biennial is held every two years at large non-exhibitional spaces of Yekaterinburg and other cities of Sverdlovsk region. The first and the second Biennials took place on the premises of the Uralskiy Rabochiy printing house. The third Biennial was held at the Iset hotel. It was the first time this unique monument of constructivism was exhibited to a wide audience.
The 4th Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art is shifting to a new level. Venues of the project are scattered all across Yekaterinburg and the Ural region, a cross-cutting theme New Literacy, conceptual uniformity of the various projects – from the main project to artist-in- residence program.
The exhibition of the main project at the Ural Instrument-Making Plant at the riverfront in Yekaterinburg city center – three stories (12 000 m2 ), 70 artists, 20 countries. Video, paintings, and object installations, with the free access to touch, spin, bend or push.
Curator of the 4th biennial main project is João Ribas (Portugal).
