Maslenitsa (Pancake Festival) in Yekaterinburg

Maslenitsa in 2017 is celebrated in two parks on Sunday, February 26th

 

Traditionally Maslenitsa is celebrated in Mayakovskogo Park. Games, street performances and of course blinis (pancakes) are available for a whole day on Sunday. There will be more trams departing from the Mayakovskogo park tram station  to take the citizens from the park in the evening.

 

The other option to celebrate this pagan carnival is Taganskaya Sloboda Park on ul Bebelya 111.

At 12.00 Maslenitsa will begin with the arrival of Lady Maslenitsa. Visitors will be able to try national cuisines and watch performances of the Chuvashs, Mariytsy and other Ural nationalities. Children will be able to ride horses as well as camels and donkeys. Products by local farmers will be available at the fair in the park.

 

Entrance to both parks on the Maslenitsa day is free
